Windows 10 Idrive Unable to Connect Try Again
Overcharge
The interface is chunky, wearisome and they'll overcharge you if information technology backs up enough files taking you over the programme you signed up for. I just had a $119/calendar month charge to my credit card because information technology didn't stop backing up once I'd hit the 5 TB limit.

I've used Google Drive and Dropbox all work fine.
I've used iDrive, it only back upwards using my mobile hotspot connection. Information technology just doesn't want to work over my NBN (FTTP) connection.
I disable all firewalls and AV, does nada at all to resolve this issue.

You get what you pay for
I used Carbonite for years, so that is my point of comparing. Installation and setup of iDrive on PC were okay, and the initial backup of 500+GB was also OK. There are some skillful features like 2FA and local key management. The cost is competitive, only I don't like the constant American-fashion nagging to buy upgrades I don't need. I bought the service partly on the basis that information technology has Android support (unlike Carbonite), merely unfortunately the Android client is a mess: non-expert German language Android customer localization; bizarre choices, badly translated, on calculation a second Android device ('confirm that this is your electric current device' or 'confirm that this device is this other device', no other choices); confusing device direction if you and so go that option wrong; you can't back up files by folder, only past blazon, and so that if you want to back up 5MB of important recordings, y'all have to back up your 20GB of unimportant music, even if it is already backed upward somewhere else. Best of all, it looks like the Android client doesn't run in the background - I've simply discovered that our Android devices were non being fill-in up at all.
Finally, support is slow and comically useless (I never needed Carbonite support).

Ditto to all of the negative reviews.
Ditto to all of the reviews that had numerous problems with IDrive.com. I experienced backup problem error messages. Did this, did that with no success! I even permit their tech go into my computer to fix the mistake. That lasted one day until the next backup then aforementioned error message. Transport error report. Same answer. I do non recommend this plan due to the amount of fourth dimension I've spent trying to make it work.

Using iDrive for over three months; recommended
I accept been using iDrive for over iii months. I purchased the 5TB option at the discount toll. I have 2 separate systems -- Windows 7 and Windows 10 for which it backs up approx. 350GB and 650GB, respectively. I accept had zero issues with the Windows ten instance; information technology just works. I had a couple pocket-sized issues with the Windows 7 instance but tech support was very responsive and helped me figure out what I needed to modify to resolve it. The sync capability works great to support files being readily bachelor on any sync'd system. Great alternative to Google Bulldoze if you're willing to pay a little for a product that includes tech support instead of *being* the product and have no tech support.

I-Drive is very buggy - Fails all the time.
I Drive is very buggy. It will not back up your consummate hard drive and volition not provide for an prototype restore. I take spent hours trying to get it to work and contacting tech support. I accept over 20 e-mails to non-english language every bit the primary language tech back up. Frustrated. I was using the excellent SOSOnline until they cut us small users off.

The software is very buggy and constantly declining to fill-in correctly. I cannot recommend it. It struggles with large files (over 1GB) like Outlook.pst files. It besides occasionally causes my internet connectedness to break requiring me to reboot my estimator to get back online.

Well-nigh price effective solution for…
Almost cost effective solution for personal use. Yep information technology can be slow to download your backups and yes it can take time to upload merely if y'all compare the cost to other providers, no comparison. I accept had to restore files a couple of times and was so glad when they were all there. For the price this is the best option out there. And the features you get with information technology are awesome. I shared old videos from over 10 years ago with ease and nobody has problems viewing them.
Reason for 4.0 instead of 5.0? Speed. Wish uploads were a chip faster for personal paid accounts.

Wouldn't recommend this Company
I had done a lot of research and this company seemed to fit what I needed but have to say that the whole experience from outset to finish was appalling. The uploads speeds were dreadfully irksome simply I put that down to the large file sizes. Later on three weeks, around a quarter of my 4TB had uploaded before I was of a sudden restricted from accessing my files due to 'your account is under maintenence' Trying to fix this problem...forget most it. Sent effectually in circles. Contact Live Chat..
explicate trouble..
your account isn't nether maintenence, you should be able to meet your files..
I can't...
Contact united states of america by Email...
Explain problem..
This is referred to back-cease team...
Trouble stock-still.
Nope, I still can't access files..
Please contact Live conversation..on on it went.
Eventually lost patience and cancelled account. Got refunded pretty apace just not the full amount I paid. I wouldn't recommend this visitor. I'one thousand certain the software is great...if it works.

Never use this service to fill-in your…
Never employ this service to backup your data. I used this service for about 5 years and the day i needed to recover my files i found out my account is nether maintainance. I contacted the support and later one week i cannot admission my files and they are non even online. At present they reply the server where my data is had a problem and the technical team is working on it. Seems they don´t exercise backup of the clients file. Hirilious. To backup data is something sensitive and important that demand trust. This company is not serious and trustful at all.

An absolute agglomeration of incompetent monkeys!! Stay abroad at all price. Do non trust them with your information under whatsoever circumstances. They have 'technical team' in the middle of nowhere and for a calendar month now they take been telling me they take passed my request to second level support team who is 'looking into my issue' and they will become dorsum to me. I have lost count how many emails I have sent and all I have received is an automated response email saying they need more time. Avert at all cost, you will regret it that I tin can promise you.

Tricky and Outdated. Is this a Tech Radar prank?
I choose iDrive based on this article from techRadar: "Best cloud backup of 2021: Online services to get your information backed up" (please Google it if you want to come across).
However, I regret this decision (and perhaps I'd similar to write a negative review for Tech Radar too).
After about two weeks, I couldn't perform a single fill-in.
There are problems with the connection to the servers IP's and ports. Disabling firewall and antivirus was not plenty (and not a valid solution as well). I disabled my router firewall also (madness!). I virtually drive my Isp staff crazy trying to solve this outcome!
Moreover, the online app that should perform some backup doesn't load at all (choice dashboard - computers). I've tried it in several different Os and browsers (windows 10, linux, macOs), without results (information technology takes forever to load and never does information technology).
The User Experience in general is not good. It seems you are in a model of 15 or 20 years agone. Standalone applications, outdated interfaces, tons of configurations... Definetively it's not what you'd expect for a good net-based service in the third decade of the 21st century.
Thank God that I choose a cheap option to try iDrive at beginning. Thus, my fiscal loss was torelable. Nevertheless, when I consider my precious time and free energy...
I'thousand but giving a ii star because of the staff support team that were attentious and willing to help (otherwise it would exist just one star).
And I give Zilch stars for Tech Radar. They are writing merely without knowing.

Car-renewal scam to keep getting your money
Cancelling the account to avoid automatic renewal is a pain in the a** thanks to a ridiculously incompetent (on purpose?) client service. To cancel the account they ask you to contact them, then they will try to call yous (besides bad for you if you are in coutry far from the Usa, the call may be at 2AM) and justify not cancelling your business relationship past the need to "verify your identity" (apparently being able to log in the website is not plenty???)

Merely to redress the remainder
But to redress the balance: I have to say I find all the negative reviews a chip mystifying. I've been trialing the service for a couple of weeks and it's worked as it should. The few errors which I spotted inn the detailed logs were easily resolved and upload speeds were very good. I've also tested restoring data and the speeds were fine - a 250MB binder of data downloaded in less than a infinitesimal. Then far so practiced - and very well priced.

This service is hopeless!
This service is a consummate waste of money. I paid for 5TB of backup but only used near 1.5TB. When I decided to restore my data to my NAS drive it took over ii weeks and I still didn't recover it all because of the ridiculously slow speed files are downloaded at. Even 200MBps internet my download is around 350Kbps. My subscription is cancelled but I am unable to download all my data so I only wasted two years subscriptions! Support squad gave many excuses equally to why a restore takes then long merely if a machine crashes you don't await a restore to take weeks. That is hardly a backup service. Who can afford to wait weeks to restre lost data.

No Response or solution
Numerous calls to company to set up backup program that stopped working. Spent hours with them online. Constantly said someone would contact me within 24 hours and never did. Very unreliable visitor. I don't ever expect them to solve their numerous issues.

Deleted our visitor files
Practise Not, I echo, practise NOT utilise this service !!
Few months ago we installed idrive to fill-in our company shared folders, holding x years of data, and so few days later, user reporting one-half of our folders are missing, so we got an It person to wait into this, not hacked, no sign or misuse and we came up with aught, lucky nosotros also have a concrete backup that we used to restore the missing folders.
Information technology person suggest disable all new software, at the time the only new software is idrive, annihilation else are more than v-vi years sometime like easeus backup and our accounts software.
Few weeks agone we decided to try idrive again because we paid for it and also we really needed a backup online so I turned it on over again.
Yesterday, the same problem over again, one-half if not more than of our folders gone !!! We had this server for over 10 years, and we have never had this problem before until idrive, and as a small business organisation, nothing get installed on the server other than idrive which I thought may be a skillful idea to accept a re-create of our data saved online, nosotros too use Easeus Backup and take been for 5 years and never a hiccup,
The way the files go missing is odd, information technology is like random folders betwixt random folders, Scrolling through quondam reviews I read one of the earlier comment of someone reported the same problem with their files become missing without alarm, this confirmed my suspicions, this software is unsafe to use, never mind the slow speed, but deleting our files when it suppose to backup and safeguard must telephone call for the Eu to investigate, as this totally breaks the data protection act.
What company can sell trash similar this ? I can't exist alone, at that place are so many people here posting 1 star, there must be a good reason for information technology.

Its So painfully boring to practise ANYTHING
Its So painfully ho-hum to do ANYTHING. I have Very fast internet. 350 down/20 upwardly. This service uploads at 200-700KB/southward... it takes forever...
The backup software fails to "successfully" complete a backup very frequently, for seemingly no reason
I have just always had to restore a few files, and while consummate and functional files, it is and so freaking boring. currently I am waiting for a 110GB file to restore. it has taken over 23h and then far, and information technology is saying it volition have another 4 hours to consummate... absolutely insane.
If it was quicker, I'd probably be more Ok with the Flakey backup software because of the features it "provides". But every bit it stands I will absolutely non be renewing my subscription. It's simply as well ho-hum for practical backup and restore usage. it might be decent for "deep" archive storage, but absolutely non for an active dataset.
Edit: Rather unhelpfully, iDrive have responded to my review asking me to attempt their "Limited" service. (disregarding the fact that this costs boosted money) This would mean them sending me an external drive to restore my 1 file... if your service cannot cope with both uploading of regular backups and some occasional restores without resorting to physical media, I don't recollect you can actually call information technology a "cloud service". More like a SneekerNet with extra steps.
